I talked to my dad last night and they took my mom's help away. I guess there was a discrepancy in her paperwork. Why didn't they notice it before now? Lawyers looked it over, the insurance company looked it over, it was approved. I think it's crap!
When I talked to my dad today my mom was crying hysterically in the background. He took the day off to get the paperwork straightened out and I guess she's been crying pretty much the whole day. She's upset because her name is being removed from everything now. They're saying that's the only way it will be approved?? What made it go through before then?
Having the extra help was making a difference for both my mom and dad. I guess after all of the changes are made they should get their help back by November 1st. My dad has his mom and sister coming over again, but they'll both be leaving for Florida soon. I'm not much help because I can't be there earlier enough or stay as late as they need me.

Oh, Jen! Oh, no. I'm so sorry.
I hope that they can get the paperwork straightened out. I am sure your Mom will be able to calm down once she knows everything WILL BE resolved.

I hope so. My dad doesn't handle it very well. Being overly emotional is part of the ALS too. When my mom starts crying it takes a long time for her to stop. He keeps telling her to stop. I think he takes it as a personal insult in some ways. Almost like he's not taking care of her needs or something. When she cries like that with me I just let her cry. I rarely say anything. I think it just makes it worse.

Your poor Dad. Here he's going through it all with her, and then to feel like he can't even support her emotionally. I am sure his pain and fear is as overwhelming as her own!
Hugs to you. You are a wonderful, loving, caring daughter. I know it is frustrating when people say "you're so strong" (because really, do you have a choice?) - but know that your parents FEEL your love in a positive, tangible way.

I am so sorry Jen! I hope that things get taken care of sooner! I know your Mom loves that one woman who took care of her and maybe you can make sure that she comes back.

Ugh Jen, that is terrible on all accounts. It makes me so mad when I hear about this sort of stuff. If one person would have done their job properly and reviewed paperwork correctly none of this would have happened. Your poor mom, it just breaks my heart.
Don't be beating yourself up, you do so much for them but you also have a family who needs you on a daily basis and your mom wouldn't want you to put them aside either. Sending you good thoughts.

Me too! I talked to my mil and she said she would be willing to take over for me getting the girls around in the morning for school and be here when they get off of the bus if my parents need me. I guess we'll see.
