I just typed a long thing and I somehow lost it. So I am going to give you the reader's digest version.
My youngest son Brendan cried all night Wednesday and didn't want me to go in for surgery. Both of my boys were up on Thursday morning at 4:30, when I left. I checked in at 5 am; surgery started at 7:15. I don't even remember the recovery room. I got to my room at 12:00 pm. They gave me Duladdin (SP?); then gave it to me at 2 pm. I stopped breathing 4 times. The nurses stayed with me for 2 hours with crash cart ready to go. DH showed up with boys at 5 pm, with his CP machine that the hospital asked him to bring. I have been using it ever since.
I could have stayed in the hospital until Monday; but Brendan wouldn't stop crying; I had all the glorious tubes and 2 IVs, which scared him. So I came home on Friday. I have been sleeping, eating, reading. Talking to boys, and then repeating.
The Dr told me that he knew 2 things about me from the surgery. 1. That I had to be extremely exhausted 24/7. and 2. I had to be in excruciating pain 24/7.
The tumor was attached to my cervix; not my uterus. And it was attached to my bladder; pushing my bladder against my rectum. It had also wrapped around my uretha and had wrapped around and twisted one of my ureters.
He thought that I was going to have bladder and kidney damage; so he ran dye through my system. He also told me that he got it out in the nick of time. If it had stayed in a while longer; it would have become maliginant. And he would have had to cut me hip to hip to remove it.
All in all; I am one lucky lady. I am on pain medication; that I am taking sparingly and on a stool softener.

Oh my goodness Kathleen! So scary that you stopped breathing, do they know why? I'm so happy that you are home and recovering now! How old is your son? It must have been horribly scary for him, poor guy. Sending you many healing thoughts!

Hi Ladies,
Thanks for all of your good thoughts!
Vivi - I stopped breathing because they OD'd me on the duladdan. My little guy Brendan is only 7 years old. He was scared to death!
Jenn - I feel like a new person. I am tired; but I am getting stronger every day. Before you go in; make sure you get night gowns and dresses that are roomy on you.

Oh Kathleen. You've been in my prayers, but I didn't imagine it would be that tough. I'm so thankful they got it in time and that you're OK - and that you're going to be so much better now.
Thanks for keeping us in the picture, and get better soon!
