With the "X" Xyron, it has that plastic film over it, so you can use a bone folder or stylus to go around your letter or shape so you don't have the sticky ashesive on the edges.
With the larger Xyron (and I only have the 5 inch wide one), there is no plastic film when you pull it through. It goes on a roller inside. If I have some plastic film left from my "X", or even from my 5 inch wide, I save it and use that to wipe the edges. Works for me! No sticky mess!!
