I had been considering changing banks for awhile because our bank's branches were all inconveniently located. I got an offer in the mail from Chase, for $200 free if I opened an account there. We changed, and did get the $200. And in the mail today, the 1099-INT 
I'm sure it said in the fine print somewhere that it was considered a dividend. I just assumed it was a "gift." Not so much, LOL! I'm guessing that $200 'gift' will cost us $40 in income taxes...
