I think I can answer the community service hours.
My kids got their community service hours from Scouts, volunteering at the animal shelter, Toys for Tots, and helping set up for Project Grad.
The kids would have to get a community service form from their school counselor, and have their hours signed off by the person in charge, ie Scout Master, animal shelter director, or volunteer coordinator. My kids would get 3-4 forms a semester and when they volunteered for something they could have the person in charge fill out the form, and the kids would then turn in the form to their school counselor.
